Guess I should have named this Ken's Drone Log

Yeah I didn't realize how close until I saw the video. The bird is back together already flow her 3 or 4 times. Did some upgrades after that crash. Had just put new motor and speed controller on. Now it also has 3 new metal cyclic servos.

Yeah that last decision was the wrong one for sure.

Parked my Q500 over my right shoulder about 125 feet, set the controller down and took off in my VisionAire flying under the camera.

I was told recently that it is now illegal to fly a drone in at least Indiana State Parks. That sucks for people that want to photograph some of the awesome sights. I heard a few people had their drones confiscated by DNR.. Don't know that it's true, just heard that.

Sounds like there is some new development with FAA according to AMA. Haven't had a chance to read all of it but didn't sound good.

That's a new development with your dad Derek. I am also a newbie. I'm waiting on a new ESC, can't upgrade the firmware on one of mine. I have only flown once with the goggles on. Definitely need a spotter for a while. It's too weird not being able to look at what you are flying.

I'll stick with the simulator rolls for now. I learned the torque hang on the sim over the winter 2 years ago so I'll work on the rolls.

Finally settled in with the new job. Doing 100% programming of large chilled water systems so far. Love it. Anyway this is my first flight after at least a month. Did do a few evenings on the sim with this plane. Was a conservative flight for me.
