Scratch Built "Turbo Bushmaster" Build

OH WOW!!! My last post about this plane was nearly 3 years ago! That's terrible! I've had this plane sitting on a shelf for near 3 years and I've never flown it....until now.

That's right....I finally took the Bushmaster out for it's LONG overdue maiden flight. I had the Bushmaster set up on 6S with a Turnigy NTM 5050 580kv motor, 100amp esc, and a 15x8 APC prop. It did fly and it flew really well! My buddy, on the camera, was struggling to keep the camera on the plane because he was trying to watch the flight and record. He also shut the recording off before the landing, so we don't have any video of the landing, but the plane did land safely and it did go home in one piece.

Once on the ground, I checked the motor and esc temps....they were quite hotttt. So....I've taken off the NTM motor and I've removed the 100amp esc. I've upgraded to a Tacon Bigfoot 160 245kv MONSTER motor (14S capable) and I've also added a Castle Creations 160amp HV esc (12S capable) and I plan on doing the next flight on 12S with an 18" APC prop. That should give TONS of thrust and then have the electronics come down only slightly warm. The Castle esc is in direct cooling airflow, too. It should be quite interesting!!!
