Frequency and Band selection

Post by DOG »

I'm having problem selecting the right frequency and band for my fossil 210. I have the Lumenier TX5G6R Raceband 600mw 5.8GHZ FPV transmitter on the 210/180 Pro with the Pagoda 2 antenna. My goggles have the Pagoda 2 and the helical 3 turn on it. I fly alone and also around trees and buildings and I just cant seem to find the right band and frequency combination to work correctly. I was wondering if anyone can make some suggestion or point me to a video that would help me out. So far I've tried band 1/CH1= 5740 and also band 4/CH7= 5880. I ran across this chart also which got me really confuse http://etserv.etheli.com/IMDTabler/run? ... 80%2C+5917 I just have no idea wear to start. I would appreciate very much for someone response :)

So the race band is use when your flying with a group of people? If I fly alone then do I want the lowest channels like 5665, 5685 or it doesn't matter. Basically I need to go through the band and channels to find out what works for my set up?

It doesn't really matter what you use, just make sure it is legal in your country.
Lower frequencies tend to have better penetration but the difference at 5.8 is minimal.
Some areas have interference on some channels so pick what works for you.
And be sure you have your VTX and VRX on the EXACT band and channel.
Some of the frequencies are really close to each other so when you are close you will get a good picture but you might lose it at distance.
Race band just has different gap between the frequencies, nothing to stop you using it if you want.
