Belts tend to slip before major damage occurs. Plus the belts are improving in strength and quality. Torque tubes do have a place unfortunately they are more fragile but are getting better. Unless you are flying Align black gears or the Gaui gears (can't speak for others due to lack of knowledge) you could be waisting money.
