Yes the battery goes underneath now like a trex 700. They have battery trays now.

Yea if I didn't have a TON of 450 parts I'd probably would have picked up an X3 instead. Even though I think the X3 canopy is hideous.

Took the 450 out for a test flight and damn it flies so much different then the dfc pro. I am flying at 3200 rpms and the bd3sx is still set up to how I had the dfc pro. The thing is so light and really fast. I think I need to turn the agility down and maybe a few rpms less.

I said that because right after Gaui released the X3 the Dominator came out with a very similar design. I was talking with a Gaui team pilot at Hotter n heli this year about this. His response was that the Gaui team was floored by the design because of how close it is. As for the canopy, it grew on me after I saw in real life. I did not realize how narrow it is in the nose. It comes to, basically a point and fits close to the frame. The wrap around takes a bit to get used to.

So I guess it pays to actually look at what your headspeed is set to. I plugged in my CC esc and checked and I guess I was flying my dfc pro at a higher headspeed then I though idle up1 was set to 3500 rpms!! On the dominator with the larger blades it makes it fly like its on crack. So I dropped it a tooth down and now have idle up 1 set to 3100 rpms. To dark to fly here now but I did hover it and I could already tell the difference lol

Question to some of you who have the dominator. If you are running non stock servos are any of you having problems with the servo arms binding at the base of the servo if you 90 the arm? On full deflection I can get the servo to bind if I 90 the arm. I have to point the servo arm somewhat up at zero so that at full travel I dont bind.

Sounds like you servo travel limit needs set in the fbl. What is your collective pitch at full throw?

Correct full negative collective and full negative cyclic = bind with the bottom of the servo case

Sounds Like the swash is to High If the servos are having to pull that far down

Yeah. Couldn't re the ball out on the arms (or go to longer arms) or use cyclic ring feature on FBL to limit it.

That's a valid assumption, I usually screw my dfc arms all the way in. I have the lynx dfc arms on this thing I should probably check the length vs the stock dfc arms.

What I did find is that main bearing block that you have to order to use non align servos comes with slighty longer ball links for the servo arms. This is to try and get them more linear with the swash. If you use the longer ball links it binds. If I use the stock ball links it no longer binds but servo link is no longer linear with the swash.

So if u were to use MKS servos.. Would u keep the stock blocks or order what exactly... I'm considering ordering the the basic kit as I just crashed my PRO DFC... I've got all the servos, ESC, & an extra FBL unit... May need a tail servo but I can do that... The kit is only $300, most parts are interchangeable so.. Anyhow

U running 3s or 6s? Will my old aluminum tail servo mount fit the new frame?

So my understanding is if you buy the airframe only kit it comes with the modified main blocks. I tried to order one of those and it was ALWAYS out of stock. So I found a decent priced used one and ordered the other main blocks.

This has the modified main block notice the longer ball links included.

This is what comes with the full kits

Personally I am really not that impressed with the 450L. The only reason I have one is because I probably have $1k in spare parts. If I was starting from scratch I might pick up an X3.

I am running 6S. From what I can tell the servo mount is the same as the DFC Pro servo mount.
