after 4 packs of fun flying today my fifth pack was the last... was doing great by my standards. flying towards myself, nose in, heli was just too far away to see it properly, so lost orientation and DOWN she went...

ill fix her up and start again, put the proper size gear on her this time though..

damage is quite extensive, thinking of just buying a cheap HK450 kit and fitting my electronics in..

anyway heres the video...

Lots of bits need replacing, here's a pic of it in pieces on the bench...

Needs feathering shaft
Main shaft
Frame broke due to heavy landing gear...broke the bracket
Boom is moving in frame, so new block needed.
Blades
Bearing in main gear as it turns both directions, teeth OK though because the motor got jolted back off the teeth
Not sure about tail assembly yet, needs tail blades though as one is chipped.

That's really unfortunate, Tony! You've been doing so well and your improvements have been quite visible...but, it happens to us all. Every time we leave the ground, there is the chance that something like this will happen.

Let the repairs begin! Good luck, my friend!

Thanks Derek, was a stupid mistake to come towards me nose in when it was so far away... Lesson learnt..

And yes I'll rebuild it and be back in action soon, but it will be a standard 450, ALL 450 parts this time..

Thanks guys

I've got align shafts mate, and a few other align parts. Did you see that main shaft in picture, lol that's an align part too... Like a banana now...

It's the feathering shaft I can't find, on align-trex site they don't give dimensions of shaft... Hopeless that..

For your Tarot head should use this feathering shaft
Feathering Shaft H45021A T-Rex 450 Pro

Oof. Sorry about the crash. At least you got it back on this side of the water before it went in. I'd be flying well away from that puddle if I were you. :)

those shafts are too short Jesse, mine are 54mm long, those are 51mm. ive still got 2 of those ones off my last heli. plus they have a shoulder on them at the ends, these tarot one dont.

i can get replacements from china, but thats a 3-4 week wait. this is the shaft i need.. 450 DFC Anti shot feathering shaft TL48009 (Φ4.0x54.0mm). plenty people sell them, just not in UK.

yeah i do occasionally get close to that pond like Paul, but i try to keep away...lol, thats the closest "Safe" site i can go to and thats a 20 mile round trip. next site is around 45 miles... theres a couple of local parks but not for flying 450's.
