Trex 450L dominator build

Post by xokia »

So my 450L showed up couple days ago and I started sticking it together. First thing that sucked is my KDE motor didn't fit. So I lopped off a couple pieces of the frame and now it fits nicely.

Heh. Cutting the frame to make room for the motor. Nice.

Yea once you fly a few KDE motors its hard to fly anything else. Align made their frames 33mm wide and the KDE motor is 33mm wide. With the aluminum frame brace in their the part that gets cut out does absolutely nothing. I still need to completely redo my wiring. I think I am going to cut the servo wires down and make things the right size so everything fits nicely.

This was a used heli I picked up from someone. The 460MX motor will be going up for sale soon. So if your in the market for a motor feel free to ping me.

Yea this is my toy room so......hahaha..... The desk has remnants of my trex 450 pro dfc which is giving its life up for the new heli. I also purchased some new Rail blades for the 700 during black Friday thus the Align blades on the desk. Haven't decided what I am going to do with those yet.

The dfc pro was a beast with the KDE motor so I expect the 450L will be similar. I'm interested to see if I like the 460mm blades verses the 425mm blades I previously flew.

Funny thing is the way it usually works is the wife buys me a toy then I go over board :( The heli addiction started out with a little heli you control with your iphone that she bought me as a gift. Then you can see the little rc car in the background. Then the picture in my profile lol. I think at some point she is going to stop buying me gifts.

This is a Japanese made car. It's an Acura NSX nothing really super special about it. It was a car I really liked when I was in high school and could never afford. It's a limited production car approx 500 made the year this one was, so it's nice not driving a car everyone else has. I've owned this car since 2000 I think so I have had it a while. Its been called everything between a viper, corvette, to now a trans-am lol. It has a V6 300hp 8200rpm redline mid engine 100% aluminum frame and body and hand assembled in japan. You can find more info about it here http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Books

Acura makes some really nice cars and if you can get them to last through the winters your ahead of the game. I take it this is a summer time no rain kind of car?

You would be correct this car is driven less then 100 miles per year.

I also own an Acura TL the wife drives year round we have no problems with it at all in the winter. It's been much better to us then the Range Rover I drive.

2005 was the last year. Supposedly they are supposed to have a new one 2015 but they have been saying that for a long time now. They were long over due for an update by the time they discontinued them.

So I finished the wiring for the servos today. Now to route the ESC wire back there some how.

So ESC wire routed also installed castle link quick connect so I don't have to disconnect the ESC each time I want to program the ESC. Pretty much done, I just want to replace the blue blades with the black ones which I will do tomorrow then if it's not raining a test flight.
