Hey guys.. Quick poll... How many members are in the US... & where? I'd like to say entirely.... But not sure many would pay to cross the pond... If u r willing.. Throw ur name in the hat! lets see if we can put together an annual fun fly for members... Find a center location between stateside members & meet for a weekendin that locations "good" weather are... Who's down?

I think it's a good idea but I also think it would be really hard to pull off. I'm in NE Indiana. Kyle is about an hour north of me. Ken is about 2 hours, I think, to the northwest of me in Illinois. Matthias is probably about 5 hours to the east of me in Ohio. Paul is in New York. You (Clay) and DOG are our southeastern members. Dustin is down there, too, in Louisiana. I dunno...perhaps a meeting place in southern Kentucky or Northern Tennessee. This would be cool if it could be done!

To be honest with you, Clay...I'd be ok with a 6-7 hour drive to meet up with a group of us. I was just looking at MapQuest. According to MapQuest, I can get to Lexington, KY in about 5 hours. I dunno, maybe this would be more possible than I thought. As it stands right now, I can't promise that I can be there for a Fun Fly but keep me on the "Possible" list.

That's a 10hr drive for me. Frankly, if I'm going to drive that far to meet up with you guys, it might as well be at IRCHA or one of the other big events in Muncie at AMA HQ. Two birds with one packed SUV.
I like the idea of a meetup, but I'm partial to co-locating and timing the meetup with an existing event so we can piggyback on it. Removes the headaches of arranging a field to fly at, getting any insurance for the event, food, hotels, facilities, etc. Not to mention trying to get people to make separate time for a forum meetup/funfly in the rest of their annual plans.

Well.... We could move the meet closer to u & try to even out the drive time for each of us.. I was thinking tent, not hotel(maybe one night just for use of a shower:) ).. Cooler & grill for most of the eating... Each using our AMA for insurance, shouldn't be any other needed. Piggy back'n on an event is cool... But u don't get to fly much at those BIG events.. I usually fly more than watch others up & down the line. But.. No one else is posting.. Guess it's a bust.

I am about 5 hours north of Louisville KY, or 6.5 hours north of Elizabethtown KY or E-town for short. My truck to munci is about 5 hours. I might be able to but I will need to post my blackout dates for the spring summer and early fall months. My blackout dates would be my army weekends.

Just giving you an idea how far from you I live.
Central would be somewhere around Kentucky or west end of Virginia.

I'm thinking that's within 1-2hours of everybody... But before I go trying to define logistics... Who all is down for it? If u guys want I'll search fields within as close to a central location as I can.. Guess I'll also try to nail down lodging, & I was thinking spring time... I need to schedule vacation time at work as I'm sure the rest of u do. But as I said... Before I go call'n people to set this up.. I need to know who's in. Tell ya what.. I'll give the thread a week.. Let's say Nov 6th.. If u want to make this happen post ur vote... A simple YES or NO.. If the majority want to do as I do, I'll set up all the logistics after we determine a date we could do it.

Yes. Might have to rent something to fly, if I have to fly there instead of drive. But yes.

That's what I'm talk' bout... That's 3 yes(including myself)... Matthias, need to step that 60% on up to 100%! Lol.. Paul, if u were to fly.. U could box up & mail a bird or two. I'd receive it & bring it along.. Could mail it back to u as well.. Just have to pull the blades & possibly the boom.. Wouldn't be too much trouble... Could take it wil u if u had a hard case... Ok.. That's 3! Where are all my RC-Hangout brothers at?!?!?!

right now time from work could be my issue and possibly some cash flow depending on how much i need to spend for the weekend. I do have the money but right now with the divorce things could get dicey. so its going to be a month to month. Early spring maybe to early to coordinate this. Most folks plan a year out on things like this. Still going to say yes because I will never know for sure till a couple months out.
