Well it's that time of the year,

Well I thought it was time for an update on this,

And it's not a good one, my wife has not been well for a while and hence she has been eating what she likes, so to support her and not seem like I don't care so have i ,

So guys it's back to square one she has put on some weight and now we are back to the healthy eating,

My first weight at the beginning of the year was 18st 4.8lbs, I am now 18st 5lbs.

The quest to lose as much as I can before I go on holidays in 4 weeks begins

Fingers crossed time me thinks......

Stick at it Kev. It's never easy but like Stambo said slow is the thing. After a few heart attacks which I have suffered makes you think about what's going into your mouth and the consequences.

I'll second that Treff, I too have had 2 heart attacks, I have 4 stents in my heart, and I'm a diabetic.... In all honesty Kev I'd rather be 18 stone than have the problems I've got at the moment.... Nothing can be done about me, or Treff I guess... But you can get your finger out and sort this weight issue out... I do hope your wife is feeling better, then maybe you can both do this together too... You and the Mrs have all of our support in your quest, keep at it, a little at a time.... Why not do a new thread with your activities and progress in so we can all easily follow it and support you both.....

Good luck Kev, takes time and persistence. I've got the smoking thing too and haven't been able to force myself to exercise. I need some inspiration!

Thanks guys, and yes it's me and the wife doing it,

She weighed this morning after starting this Monday, and she lost 3 lbs, so happy for her.

My inspiration is my daughter, there is a lot of heart problems in my family and my father died when I was 16, I don't want that for my girl, he was 53 and knowing that it scares the hell out of me,

Basically all I'm doing is watching what I eat and going for many walks through the week,
Watching what we eat is done through using the app, my fitness pal,

Oh and smoking is something I have never done but know from a lot of people that it's hard as hell to give up, but guys it's gotta be good for you in the long run,

Well 6 days ago it started, and today was my first weigh in.

Starting weight 18st 5lbs
Today's weight 18st 0.4lbs

So -4.6lbs

So onwards and downwards, fingers crossed!

Thanks guys, she done well dropped 3.2lbs but she is only looking to drop 8lbs in total,

Hard day yesterday, felt like I could eat a horse, but managed restraint in the end, and that was with a pile of doughnuts and sweets in the work kitchen.

Well it's another 1lb for me so I am now 1st 13lbs had stalled this week a bit as I cut my intake to much, body went into starvation mode, never thought I could sustain on 1200-1300 calories but it was not all that bad, but my body decided it was not enough.

Oh well you live and learn.

My misses hit her goal and lost her remaining 3lbs she is now 9st and happy again,

Onwards and downwards (weight wise) this week interim weigh on Thursday to see if I am doing ok.
