Need to get the weather right or it will be a wasted journey:) Most important thing is a long dry spell, then you will see the places in all there glory:) Timing and weather are crucial:)

New motors for my quad today.... One of them jammed up yesterday in flight.... Ordered these last night from makeitbuildit.co.uk and they've arrived already.... Super service.....

Nice. Are they Emax motors? The wire looks more substantial than the wire on my RCX motors.

they are DYS motors Cam, Dan recommended them as hes used them... yeah the wires are pretty long like...

I love these dys 1806's, they perform flawlessly on 4s with 5045's

Hey Graham, don't apologies mate, those motors you gave me were ace, had some great fun with them, and the frame. ESC's and FC's still going strong too.. Lost count how many lipos I got through with those on... So they gave me some great times.. Thanks mate, and thanks to Dan...

Haven't had time to fit them today Dan, but they will get fitted tomorrow... Did you oil/grease them up before first flight?

yeah mate, cleaned them with brake and clutch cleaner and re-greased, and then clean and re-grease every second session, they get a lot of crap in them at the field.

yes, its about every 24-30 flights, don't forget i don't use landing gear either .

It doesn't take long tony, ive got a gallon of brake cleaner i pour some in a container and then pour some in the motors making sure its well flooded, let it evaporate and then oil. Takes 10-15 mins and keeps the motors silky smooth.

Thanks Dan, I'll get some of that cleaner tomorrow.. Do you use silicon grease, that's what I used to use on heli bearings...

I use Tri-flow that i got for my heli's, its a PTFE (teflon) base lube.
