This was my sons 6th or 8th week of karate for beginners. He came a long way with a one day a week class. I hope to keep him in it but with everything going on its going to be a struggle.

Discipline has been key for him. The instructor did a good job at instilling life lessons with the kids. there is a discount if he starts out soon. he basically gets the uniform and application fees for free and pays only the monthly cost for the first month. Will see how it goes after I get more time at work.

Thank you for the kinds words guys. It was a great 6 weeks for him.
The cost per month is around $90 USD. This instructor normally charges $45 for uniform, $20 for application fee and first month of $90. Since Nico has done this after school program he has the fees waived and only needs the $90 for the month. This guy also has a family package which I am not sure how much that is but I am sure it is expensive.
Here is a pic i took right after the class

I was very involved in martial arts for many years.
I spent 5 years as the head instructor for my district.
The thing I enjoyed most was watching the kids come out of their shell and grow in to confident young teens.
I am still in contact with many of my former students and made many lifelong friends.
One thing I can tell you for sure is if the instructor is any good it can do nothing but good for your son.
He will learn lessons he can carry in to later life about respect, discipline and honour.
I had several parents say to me "I don't know what you are doing to my child but keep it up" referring to improved behaviour and attitude at home and improved report cards from school.
If you can do it I encourage you to keep him at it.

Awesome! If he digs it try to keep it roll'n! My oldest, out of all the stuff he did.. Band/music was his fav... He is good too.. Real good, not being bias... Honestly good. And all the time & money spent has paid off.. Outta 39K yearly tuition... I only have pay 6K(good GPA as well)... So yeah.. Keep him focused on it if he loves it for sure man... Awesome!
