Every now and then a spammer gets through. We could put in place moderation for the first N posts. We didn't want to do it initially since there was a lot of signups and most of the people we knew already anyway. But now that we're not getting many new members, it wouldn't be much of a burden to have forced moderation of initial posts.

Or do a email verify type thing

There is already an email verify in place. And you would be surprised how many it catches.
The ones that get through are humans, there's not a lot you can do about them really other than verifying new users post up to a set count but this has to be done manually.
If you see anything like this PM me and I will ban user and delete the post as soon as I can get on.
