Today I took my wife and two friends to do some geocaching.
Nice walk up into the mountains.
Best thing, the girls each found one cache. So now they are excited to go out and do some more.

Geocaching is where you have to find different objects which are mapped out, you tend to use your smartphone with gps to find these things, the things I've found were a plastic box with a notepad in it that you signed and put back, sometimes it's just a rock with "You found me" on it.

Then you go on your geocaching app and login, then put your experience in..

Some nice walks can be had from geocaching. On the app you might get some clues as to what your looking for in that particular spot.. There's thousands of items to be found. But don't keep them. Lol..

You should try it bud, great fun

It started with one guy in San Francisco.
When GPS became available to the public, he decided to test the accuracy, by hiding something and posting the coordinates online for people to try and find it.
This started a craze of hiding objects for others to find that spread all over the world.
There are now i think over 2.5 million caches.
They can range from a small film canister with note paper to make a comment and date your find.
To a large case with things you can take, and replace with something of your own.
There are also 'Trackables' These are coded medallions that you put the code into the website, and it tells you where its from and what the owner wants it to do.
For example, I put a trackable in a cache in the UK. On the website, I say it wants to see the southern tip of Africa.
Somebody finds it that is going to say France, they take it and find a cache to hide it in. This way it move from cache to cache until someone finds it thats going to South Africa, and the goal is met.
You get to read about peoples exploits and see photos from were its been.

Its the best way to see an area that you are not familiar with. Like having a personal tour guide on your phone. You get to see places that you would never even think to go, even in your local neighbourhood.
Try it out.

Geo caching is really cool to do. With cell phones and wrist style garmins really anyone can do it now. Its a chance to get out and see tings you normally would not go and see. Maybe with this job I can get out during the summer and start seeing thing myself.
