so the question is....what this another "run-away" DJI or was this another inexperienced DJI pilot doing dumb things?

I've heard stories of something happening with the Phantom and it just runs away and then there have been other stories of just your average inexperienced "Joe" buying the quad and losing control.

I've actually seen my flying buddy (a lesser experienced pilot) try to fly his Blade 350qx like it's an MCPX. I asked him not to fly his quad like that until he starts to know what he's doing.....and then he plows it into the ground. It's a bit frustrating when I have to question where to stand because I am concerned about my own safety

The guy is a millionaire, his kid has everything. They have put a £50 reward for its return. He said he lost control/it was unresponsive? sounds like a flyaway.

Going to take a look around tomorrow. It has been lost for two days.

So they bought a quad, they didn't know how to fly it, they know you fly, and they didn't ask you for any advice?

Its idiots like this who will get fpv/quads banned.

There was a guy at work this week who was disappointed he didn't get a "drone" for christmas, WTF never flown any RC and wants a phantom for christmas.
Its not as if he's put a couple of hundred hour in on the sim. So it christmas day you've unboxed you phantom charged the packs and followed the manual to the letter. Off you trot to the back garden and get it in the air, now this is where it goes one of two ways. you get it up and hit some thing, fence, swing, trampoline, self, delete as applicable. Or you think if i get it high up i cant hit any thing, lose orientation (probably quite quickly) and kiss good bye to the phantom (and never think did it hit someone/something).

Idiots!!

deep breaths........... Rant over.

The same guy bought two rc helicopters and they were crashed on maiden take off, one was 3d set up, and he could not understand why his son could not fly it. He tried to return them to the store, but the guy who sold and fixed them refused, but offered a swap for a quad, this was years ago. I explained why he could not fly it and suggested a sim:( No advice taken??
