Well as most of the world tries at this time of the year to do what I'm doing, to keep myself on track and to try and reach my goal I am going to employ you guys on here,
The aim, is not to be a fat boy any more, so I'm on a healthy spurge, and to help with it I am going to shame myself and track it all the ups and downs live here, so I started on the 5th of Jan and my starting figures are,
Height 6ft 1/2" or 181cm
Weight 18st 4.8lbs or 257lbs or 116.8kgs
So here starts the journey, I wish anyone else on here doing the same the best of luck and here's to everyone's good health!

I dont think its so much getting it off, its keeping it off:) My Mrs is the same, she has started again and i am supporting her as i need to as well:) She has health issues which dont make it easier. She has been at both ends of the spektrum from too light to too heavy.
I dosent help with me being a good cook either:(

I have put on a lot of weight on over Christmas. Not doing any exercise hasn't helped. Need to get back into the sport again.
Good luck Kev.

I have put on about 21lbs since I had to give up karate 2yrs ago cos of my knee, so loosing the weight will help with that as well.

Certainly will help Kev:) my knees get sore to with the extra weight:( Had weight watchers Carbonara tonight(home made to their recipe).
I always look at the extra weight as 2lb bags of sugar and look at is eg carrying 10 bags around, gets scary when you think of it like that:(

Yeah I haven't skated like I usually do in a couple months.. A local concrete park just completed this past week so I need to get back in the swing of thing soon... This new park is a beast!

Well week two
Dropped only a half a pound this week, being ill with a cold last week and my wife and daughters birthday and we had a party and been out, so not a great diet weekend,
Been advised not to weigh on a Monday as your better doing it on like a Thursday so that's what I am going to do, as apparently it's better for your motivation and a way to see the results, not being effected by fluctuations that the weekend short patterns do,
So more to follow in a few days, fingers crossed,

Good effort Kev:) 1/2lb every week = 26lb = nearly two stone in a year which is excellent:)

I have been involved in the fitness industry for many years as a martial arts instructor.
The big thing I have found over that time is that those who lose weight fast, tend to put it back on fast too.
Those that lose weight slowly tend to keep it off.
For most people the weight gain is a gradual process, taking off huge amounts at a great rate may look good in the short term but will very regularly be put back on.
Slowly but surely, let the body get used to the gradual changes.
Keep it up mate, you're on the right track.

Thanks guys appreciate the support,
Yes Stambo I totally agree, that being said my target is 2lbs a week, and should be very achievable,
5lbs down, 28lbs to go, 15% of my target achieved
