My PRC order is in limbo. I sure hope it does not come tomorrow or I will be a little heaved about it.

In the mean time I got a raspberry pi board and made a media center with it. Still needs some tweeks but it is working.

So far I am impressed with it.

I've had a Pi board for years URI, still got the very first one they brought out, and it's had XMBC on it ever since. Still works a treat.. Bit slow like, needs the new board now... I tried it as a NAS but was too slow...

The pi2 is a quad core with a gig if memory. They added 2 more USB ports and a few more io pins. I love it so far I want another for learning. This one as of now is a dedicated video streamer.

Yes I've seen the new ones, I'll have one soon to upgrade my media centre.. Still use my old one for streaming vids and music... And watching films, live TV etc... It's an excellent piece of kit for the price... I've had displays and all kinds of electroncs on mine in the past. Learnt a lot of Linux code too with that... Now it's just velcro'd to the back of the tv... Use my tv remote or my iPad to control it.

What do you use to power it? They are quite critical for power, I bought a 5amp ESC for mine and powered it from an old 12 volt wall adapter... Works a treat

I got the raspberry charger which dose the required 2.1 amps that it needs. I need a powered USB HUD though firbthe external hard drives I have. I would like to get my 2 1terra drives working on it so I can use it for more than videos. I got to thinking of all the stuff you can do with a pi2, since that's what I got. There is so much you can do if you know what your doing.

can you program in C, if you have Geany installed the possibilities of the Pi become unlimited really.. bit like the arduino IDE.. thats an nice environment to work with too.. most of my work is with ARM processors, but my hobby lies around the arduino stuff.. the Boblights for your TV are good too, nice little project for your Raspi.
