I have two 100mm x 300mm x 1.5mm carbon fiber sheets and two 10mm x10mm x 300mm carbon fiber square tubes.

I saw a Youtube video about two weeks ago and it just got me thinking. I started shopping around for parts and I've found most everything, here in the states. A few things from China but I order them all at once. I imagine 2 weeks or so for all that to get here.

That maiden was great, those motors sounded like they were hardly rotating... I hate cameras that blackout the ground when there's too much sky.... My mobius done the same.....

Now you've got me thinking.
All the tools I have to use at work, what could I make ???

Thanks for sharing those videos, Dan! They gave me something to think about.

Here is the video that I was talking about. I just love the idea of a bit larger frame with a canopy. The quad in the video has rotating arms that rotates the motors in flight. I'm not sure that I can work that out and it's not really important to me. I just like the look of the frame, the quad, and the canopy.

Tony....I'm sorry for being another one of us that was trying to keep the project a secret, lol. ha ha ha. I was just trying to keep the thread "on topic" but Dan messed that up, ha ha ha.

So, now you all know. I'm thinking this quad will be around 300-330mm. I've not drawn anything up yet but I am going to get some of my scrap wood pieces and I'm going to work on a "mock up" frame....just as I suggested to Dan to do.

I like the idea of having CF sheets around.. Where from Derek?

The two sheets that I got are 100mm x 300mm x 1.5mm or 3.9" x 11.8" x 1/16"

I got them from the HK East warehouse in the Hardware & Accessories section. Scroll down in that section to find Carbon and Glass Fiber.

They were $17.25 each. Will my quad cost me less by scratch building it? I dunno, lol....but it will be "mine". I just love "the build".
