Looks like maybe a surface mount inductor.

I got two replacements today. Sent in an envelope with no padding and they're fine?

Should be pretty resilient. The damage probably was not originally caused by transit. May have had too much heat applied while soldering or just a straight up defect in the plastic/potting used around the coil.

That sounds about right :)

Sorry Graham, yes they are inductors

I have been trying these PDBs and there is an issue.
The 12V output for the VTX doesn't supply enough voltage.
Under load it drops to below 5V, so cameras don't work.
I have found a lot of people with this same issue.
I hope yours work properly Graham.

I have seen that to Lee, luckily I have not had a drop out, think cos I use a 5v camera,

If you are running 3S, then its fine. I have used the LED pins, and they work.
But for me, I want to run 4S, and that would throw 16V into my camera :(

You dont want that:) there must be a way to reduce the voltage to 12V? Tony?

I run my cam from my vtx not the PDB, and running the vtx from the 12v pins, also running the led pins and the 5v for the naze32, not had an issue YET!

Simple enough to drop 16 volt to 12 volts with the same regulator I showed Derek for his leds... I did mention a while ago about these pdbs with there own regulators on... Not all are good, the one I looked at had no decoupling capacitors, and the tracks were far too thin for the currents that would be going through them...

I run my cam from the VTX too Kev.
Problem is, the VTX output is the same as its input. So 3S is fine, 4S is Bad :(

Of course I could run a separate 12V reg, but that defeats the object of making things lighter, and simpler :)

Have you had a look at this one Tony? Your thoughts?

I hate you guys some times. Im about to start a new build (more of a frame swap really) and the frame ive ordered comes with one of these

link http://miniquadfpv.com/product/thug-pdb/

It accepts 2 pololu regutators of your choice and is also the PDB, for my appication im going to run a 5v http://skpang.co.uk/catalog/pololu-5v-1 ... -1413.html and a 12v http://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/s10v2f12-12v-regulator

+1 Dan:( I have 2 good and 2 i would not use, until Tony checks them at our RC-Hangout Scottish Meet:) I had the intention of putting them in all my quads............now i am not so sure:)

Sorry guys for not answering sooner, we are getting our new motorhome today and been really busy sorting the old one out... New thread coming soon..

Graham, can't see the full pcb on that board, so if you send a link I'll look at it...

Dan, send a photo of the other side too or a link..
