Dan's Thug 280lw flight log.

After the last race at drinkwater park I tore the rubbers on porket yet again and was getting tired of replacing them.
I looked into new frames and found the thug 280lw

The specs for this quad are
Cobra 2204 2300kv
Dys Bl20a (blheli 14)
Sprf3 board (cleanflight 1.10 beta, luxfloat v2)
Opti power 4s 1300mah 50c/100c packs
Sony 600tvl fpv cam
Skyzone 200mw vtx (audio grounded)
MAVLink-OSD (MWOSD)

The picture show the quad with 5" props but will be flown with 6". Hoping to maiden in the morning, video to follow

how do you get BL14?
when i plug my dys into the software, it only shows 13.2

14.0.0.3 came out today Lee.
Dan what you doing with your stock of 1000mah 4s's if your changing batts again

Todays maiden didn't go too well because of these dys esc's.

Im going to fly those as well as, they are a bit on the light side but it just balances. lol

If your vtx audio isnt grounded it causes the audio section of the video transmission too spread across the 5.8 bandwidth.

It broke props and an arm, I'm going to remove the dys esc's, this is the 4th one in the last month that's gone up in smoke as well as a DOA. Going to chuck some afro 30's on for now when the new arm arrives.
By the way it was flying awesome before the fire.

I won't be using dys esc's again 50% failure rate is too much for me.

It seems that they have had a bad run with the 20a esc's but no worse than Kiss esc's which started this small esc trend,

ive swapped the dys out for some afro 30a and have found that my sprf3 board has been damaged in some way, its not holding a constant looptime what ever it is set at, this may be the cause for toasting the dys esc's.
I had a flip32 (acro) to hand so ive installed that and remaidened today.

I finally got some time to fly/tune heres the last flight of the session. P's are a bit on the high side, but all in all feeling good and logs look pretty good as well.

I had some parts arrive for the thug on Friday. Hoverthings 10 degree motor mounts.
