I thought ordering from China was bad

Post by murankar »

Last rant about the United States Postal Service:

Placed an order that ended up coming from china, It shipped March 30th and arrived in Cleveland last night at 2316.

Placed an order for something coming from the Boston area and it shipped on March 27, and it still has not made it to the Cleveland Sorting facility. I also had 2 day priority added to the order for $6.30.

Finally place and order from a hobby shop in Lancaster Ohio (south east of Columbus) on March 31. This order just left the Columbus sort facility
at 2121.

Now keep in mind that there is a long shore-mans strike going on. Whet the hell gives. China normally takes about 2 to 3 weeks to deliver to the States. Sometimes longer if its Chinese New Year (February time frame).

Our mail service is so unpredictable. I lost 3 flying days because of these inept curse word.

Yes, I've noticed that, too. My mini quad frame came from HK International warehouse. It got here in 16 days. I expected it to be a bit longer. Quite happy about that. I ordered my Mobius camera from the New York area and it took 6 days to get here. I ordered a new batch of colored packing tape from northern Georgia and it took 5 days to get here. Last time I ordered packing tape from the same company, my purchase was here in 3 days. I dunno what's going on with the post service but I sure hope they get it sorted out. If not, we'll have to start planning our building and repairing ahead of time.

UPS or FedEx is our only other option at this point. If you plan on going 2 day priority then get standard with the other guys.

I agree with Derek. We have to start planning. When i have some extra $$$ "Rarely", i try to stock up on the usual parts that often break most often on me. Main/Feathering shaft, blades, gears..... stuff like that. No matter what, the postal service has you right where they want you, guessing and waiting.
