Radjet 800

I had a funjet a couple of years ago, but it died a slow death
The electronics, have been sitting in a box since then.
So today, I ordered a radjet kit to use this power unit.
It will have a 2350KV motor, 70A esc running 4S.
Should be capable of 130mph+

I also threw in a new 4S lipo, a cutting matt, and 1m of adhesive velcro

That's gonna be awesome fun, Lee! I'd like to get a Skyfun with upgraded electronics for some fast fun but I think your Radjet package will be faster lol.

The sky fun was a nice plane. It flies fast or slow with equal ease.
But the aerodynamics are not as sleek as the radjet. Wing profile is quite thick.
I was on the fence as to whether to get another Skyfun jet or this.
I'll let you know which I prefer when I get to fly it

So the build has started.
First was to glue the tail fins, and servos into the wings.
Also set the links.

Next was to modify the motor.
I reversed the shaft by removing the C clip, loosening the grub screw.
Slide the shaft through to allow attachment of the prop.
This turns the motor into a pusher mountable motor.
As the C clip has been removed, you need to add a wheel collet.

The motor mounts are laser cut ply.
To allow for the collet, I had to cut up a couple to give some room.

Just did a power test.
WOT I get 42A and 650W.
So it seems I can get rid of the bulky 70A ESC, and put my YEP 45A in there.
Thats a saving of 16g

Maiden Fail
Looked good for the first circuit, but lost all power, and it went in
Luckily superficial damage. Wing came off, but at the seem, so just needs gluing back on.
Slightly deformed aileron, but I have balsa ones from my skyfun, ready to mount anyway.
Did a range test, and all was good.
I think because a tried my old battery first, it may not have had sufficient power.
Couldn't check if it was a brown out, because as you will see in the video, the battery was 20ft away
