$153?! Holy crap. Were you buying a pallet of them? Overnight shipping from Singapore? That's nuts. I figured it would be a little pricey, but that's way up there.

Well 8 packs for 4 stick packs was a bit pricey. I figured since the packs were more affordable I would order a couple more. Figured nothing wrong with my flights per cycle rotation. SO I trashed that idea and ordered 4 3000 mah 45c Pulse Ultras for now. Later on I may order 3300 once they are in stock.

Last night I ended up making a platform for pluming the main shaft. Got the swash dead level, follower arms are dead flat and even and the pitch is set at dead zero. Now to get rescue setup and calibrated. The only issue I have is Mikado states to put the "Unit" on a level surface. I for some reason don't know if the mean the Vbar or heli. Either way with the platform I can level either just need to know which one. I have updated my G+ 570 Album.

That's gonna set the attitude of the heli in bailout.. But the FBL unit & the heli... Any level flat surface should suffice. It's not like ull stay in bailout.. It just want to know what's level upright. Sounds like u r making quick work of the build.. I can feel ur excitement! Awesome! Are u making 12s sticks from the 6s packs? U can get clear shrink from http://www.fblrotors.com/search.asp?key ... nk&search= .... Sure from elsewhere also.. I like to support Ralph & Alan as much as possible.. Good guys.. Anyhow.. Enjoy the build.. Double & triple check everything.. It easy to miss stuff.. I know I missed a servo horn bolt on the E7SE.. I had not thread locked it due to having to program the FBL unit first.. And once I did, I missed thread locking one. It vibrated out mid flight.. For me it's usually the stuff u have to go back for later for whatever reason that I botch. Keep it roll'n bud!

Well folks the Packs are made and the UI sensor installed and verified it was working. The Image below is a screen shot of the 570 screen once its all connected. In the volts section you see 2 numbers: the top is the RX pack and the bottom is the flight pack(s). I cant remember right off hand if i did that with one pack or 2. If I did it with one pack then my home made jumper wire was installed. What I do for that is plug the jumper into the ESC negative and plug the pack into the ESC positive. 5 hours of messing around with the packs.

If anyone decides on using the Castle bullets let me know they can be a PITA. This assemble the opposite of EC5s. You slide the housing on the wire first, solder the connector and then slide the connector in to the housing. You WILL need to use something to push the connector into place and maybe even a hammer. They are that hard to get into place. Once they are in the male connectors may need the metal ends squeezed a bit so they slide together with some ease. If you don't then you will have issues pulling them apart.

All up weight with flight packs is 3.7 Kilos or 8.2 pounds.

booo!

:) Sorry about the weather. I'm hoping for tomorrow (thurs) and Saturday to be decent. Not sure it will happen though. And yes, charge adapters/leads will be helpful. Good luck.

I got the generic modular boards from progressive rc. They need ends. my issue at this point is my plans coming up that includes a project that needs the generic boards. My order from progressive rc that has what I need to almost finish the project is delayed till the 13th or there abouts. So do I solder now just to charge and then desolder later once I get the rest of the stuff. Either way I will be desoldering the original leads to affix what I need. anyhow thats it for now.

I finally broke down last night and made the charge board for the packs. I charged up the packs and went to finish the setup. After messing with the hobbywing for over an hour I finally got the dang gum thing to work. Here is the deal with the 100A Pro V3 HV, the port for the fan in the front of the esc is used to program the esc. It also provides power to the programmer. Once I figured that out I was able to go in a change the PWM and kHz and I think thats all I had to play with at the moment. have yet to set up the governor because I cant go out and fly. We have 80-100% chances of rain all day today and all weekend. Time to break in some packs on the bench. At this point the Gobby should be all ready to go up in the air. The radio is setup, endpoints, gear ratios, pole counts, etc, etc etc. Now its time to set the alarms for low voltage on the radio for both the flight pack and the RX pack.

OH yeah, it stopped, well stopped enough, raining at lunch. Went out at got gov store on the hobbywing set. Head speed at 50% is 1780 without load. Now that I have my head speed displayed on the radio I can adjust the head speed to 2100, 2200, 2300. Currently I am using the stock 21 tooth pinion. Who am I kidding yes I even got it off the skids just enough to make a smile. I had to smoke a cigarette afterwards.

This thing sounds so awesome. In real life these things operate so smooth.

So this video enedup being super crapy. For what ever reason after i rendered the video and uploaded it, it ended up being 320p. I also realized yesterday that my throttle was way to loose for me. It was flopping in the wind. So I had to tighter her up a bit. My thumbs were shacking so bad it was showing in the heli, a little. I think my final head speeds are going to be 2150, 2250 2350.

Thank you guys. Yes and the weather has been not so helpful since the build got done. I finally got all the packs broke in on the bench, built my fuel table on the PL6. I was hoping for sure I would not have to do that. It is sooooooo painfully slow. Takes almost 6 hours for one 6S. What this does is it allows the charger to charge accurately. The PowerLabs PL series chargers rely heavily on C rating vs capacity. When you make your charge profiles you have the option to base the charge on C rating vs amps. With the fuel table setup it makes the C rating real close.

Now for some back to flights. I still need to set the head speed. I thought I found it but I have the wobble-in goblin syndrome. Once the head speed is finally set I then can go in a tuune for light flying. I may not be a great pilot at least i'll look doing doing it.

Well, the cool thing is that we don't have to be "great" pilots to have fun, Matthias! As long as you are having fun and enjoying your time out flying...you're being a "great pilot".

The bigger heli makes me feel like I m starting all over again. Need lots of work on this bird. Now to get the sim to feel about the same.
I hate to say this but I really like intro. Time to refine it more.

Finally its in 1080p. Took some time for the HD to catch up with the rest of the videos.
