It was great to meet you and Christine, Tony.
We had fun, even though we destroyed everything we had LOL :D
The quad is stripped back to basics. Everything tested. Only thing destroyed by the water was the ESCs So pretty lucky escape.

I hope that next year you guys will go through with the plan to come here on the first RC Hangout tour bus :D

Ugh. Not water again! Tony, find a nice salt flat and fly there from now on. :)

Oy. Sounds like the damage isn't too horrible on the quad. Luckily the small ESCs these quads use are cheap.

And sad to hear you're giving up on the helis. I understand, but hate to see someone leave the segment of the hobby.

Looks like all you need is a kite board and the day is complete. Looks cold.

No Kev, Lee is going to fix it up and post it off to me. We downloaded all the vids to Lee's laptop before that flight so all is not lost... Lee has lots of videos to go through to make a decent one of everything we've done... I know he loves that sort of thing... Haha

Me and water go hand in hand Paul... Lol, we were about 400-500 meters away from that river, yet I still managed to hit it. Mind you it was really windy, blowing towards the river...that's my excuse...lol

I think once I've mastered orientation etc with the quad, and I make a plane and get some experience with that I will probs get another heli, they are just too cool to miss out on.

I grabbed those pictures as a screenshot from the two videos you made.
The bit you took of me picking the quad out of the water wasn't very clear. The zoom function on the camera really lowers the resolution of the picture. I wouldn't bother using that again Tony. Just keep it at full wide.

I have met a few submariners over the years and they are a strange bunch:) All those years cooped up, think it affects the brain:)

My first experience was in 1987 after i left the Marines, i went for a job at Aldermaston the atomic weapons place. Me a submariner electrician, boy was he touched:)

Ok Lee, I'll not use the zoom....

Haha, yeah I definitely need a submarine Graham, seems the way to go with me...lol, might find my blade too... And my möbius. Haha. I'm bloody hopeless man... Need to fly in the Sahara. I'd probs still find water...lol

Well we stopped off for a bacon and egg sarnie and coffee, we 360kms from French border, so not doing too bad...

Just something to think about Tony, from my experience....I noticed that my orientation skills improved greatly once I started flying my scratch built planes. A combination of my planes and the sim were a definite benefiting factor to my improved heli skills.

I have heard that from a few that got stagnated with helis. Get a plank and fly your butt off. Then when you go back to the heli again things are easier.
