I got out for a pack today, the pack went pretty well apart from a small issue with the quad throttling up on it own a couple of times. after coming out of a turn it gain altitude (quite a lot) and then when i reduced the throw on the stick it returned to normal and was ok for a while. Im uploading footage to youtube now, ive watched the video back a few times and noted the times that it did it. I made some changes in the software yesterday to the throttle max endpoint in the software increased from 1900 to 2000 (after reading a thread on the open pilot site about motors not giving even thrust and sometimes increasing the endpoint gets rid of the problem) and then recalibrating the ESC's.

For now im going to return the max endpoint to 1900, recalibrate the ESC's and see if the front right drift returns.

The way I stopped uneven climb was to reduce the TH curve in the software to 85 or 80% high stick.
This gives the motors more headroom to be able to adjust.
Just imaging you are at full throttle and try to turn. Theres no where higher for the motor RPM to go.
Worked for me.

Should adjust the rest of the curve to make it linear or just move the top point?

Some close shaves there Dan, clipping that goal post was brill, one of those seagulls is going to catch you one day...

... It's a weird fault you have with that. Hope someone can help you with it... But awesome to watch your flying...you never know what's going to happen next...

ive adjusted the throttle curve to 85% and recalibrated the ESC's at 1900, ive done some LOS testing and there isn't any drift like i had before. Ivee run 2 packs through back to back and not had the same throttle issue but time will tell when i get out to the field again for another session

Could it be a signal issue?
As you were farthest away from yourself on all the occasions it happened.
Is your failsafe set to min throttle?

Glad the other issue is fixed, hopefully

Tx fail safe is set to 20% throttle so it doesn't just fall and comes down a bit slower. I will have a look at the antenna placement.

Flights are looking much better now Dan.
Some of those banked turns were looking good too.
Looks like you could drop your roll P down a bit, might help reduce those little jitters a bit.
Is your camera mounted a little crooked, looks like a slight left angle in most of your vids.

Ive torn the quad down this morning and found that one of the cables between the cc3d and rx had a bit of coating missing and it was in a place that is next too the frame, i dont know if this might have been the throttling issue but may be. Ive removed the defective cable i just dont have accessory 1 now (dont use it anyway). I have ordered a new cable anyway.

Im going to reassemble it later and re route the wiring.

At the farthest point at that field im less that 250m meters away and the tx battery had been charged that morning?

Thanks mate im starting to get a feel for it im trying to get the cornering down, ive been trying to do what you said about anticipating the corner with more throttle, i will be happy when its not doing things on its own.
ill try dropping the p's down a few points.

Camera probably was crooked i dont think ear plugs are the best. plus im using a sj4000 (gopro size) its hard to get it strapped down.

I getting to the end of my tether with this cc3d board

. ive done some more LOS testing and in attitude mode the thing is drifting front right all the time ive changed the accelerometer bias and its fine for about 20 seconds and then the drift is back. Im starting to think that i might have got a bad board. the thing is it flys fine in rate/acro mode.

So at the moment the only way i can fly it is in rate mode, as i cant get another board for at least 2 weeks. I know the road to rate mode is strewn with broken props and i have some to be going on with (ive broken a few more this morning) so i might bit the bullet and go for it in rate mode, what do you think?

Then once ive got funds get another board, but what........

Has it started doing weird stuff since changing all the PIDs?
Try putting it back to the Blackout settings and see if it still does it.
I'm trying a Nase32 to see how that flies compared to the CC3D.

OK lee so far ive wiped the board reflashed, it ran the wizard (blackout settings) had to turn the P's down and flown it, sometimes it drifts sometimes it doesn't.
i get it to hover in atti mode in one spot using accl bias, it will work for a flight or 2 and then starts drifting, always hard right. rinse repeat.

In rate mode it flys fine, it driving me mad. I cant wait 2 weeks to fly Lee in going to have to try rate mode.

Have you looked at the scopes in the GCS? See what the Gyros/Accels are doing?

I'm running one of my flight modes at default, and its pretty close to flying well.
Try setting Rate and Attitude to default and see how it flies.
Make sure your Attitude menu, Gyros zero while arming is ticked as well.

I think ive found the problem, because the board in on zeal tape a la milton mod and the cable tie if offset to the front, so its putting pitch into the gyro.

Ive flashed loaded blackout setup rate (indoor) and put a degree of pitch on the gyro and then used the accl bias to finish it off its hovering nice no drift. pics below.

That must be a new file. Wasn't there before.
The PIDs are very close to what i have tuned mine to anyway. Flew it today in high wind, and it was smooth as.
Clicking level should do the adjustments for you without needing pitch bias. But if it works, it works

Its right, im telling the board its not mounted level on the aircraft before i apply any biasing.

I used the bias for fine tuning, i will have to get it outside tomorrow and see what happens.

my own fault graham if i had of stuck the FC down with gyro tape no problem its just because of the gel tape.
