I tend to put my cell phone number on mine so if I lose it, and someone honest finds it, I have a chance of getting it back.
Their are a lot of things that can seem like common sense that a lot of us at first glance would not have an issue with. The problem is people take things to the extreme. Once you let them get a foot in the door the will keep going until it's banned or regulated out of existence.
